Creature/Animal Design:

1. Line quality, surface detail i.e reptile skin, fur etc
2. Type/category is up to you, but not simple cartoony style
3. Indication of ground etc.

•Must have at least two structures
•Must have foliage, ground texture etc.
•On Tuesday have at least 5 pages of solid ideas. Pen and paper is fine. (1 page is front and back).
•Do your research! Don't just make it up. Give yourself a back story to hang      your design on.
•We will create a day view then a night view

File-export as. Use the dropdown menu to select "jpg". Click "use artboard". Choose 72 dpi and "RGB" not "CMYK".

Final Drawing Due Thursday

Some key commands:
"R" will give you the rotate tool, "Esc" will reset it
"B" will give you the brush tool
"E" will give you the erase tool
The brackets on the keyboard will adjust the size of your brushes
Put a layer for your line over your rough drawing, lower the opacity on your rough layer.
Try to do clean sweeps with your line.

Here's some nice drawings, yes they have tone. We will be adding tone to your drawing next week. For Thursday just stick to line.

Here's some solid drawings, deconstruct them. I want to stay line based with this project but we will be adding tone after next week. Note all the silhouette in the foliage. Get your drawing as far along as you can this week. We will have one more work session in class then final on Thursday. I want to cover how to do our final overlay/clean-up drawing on Tuesday. This will be important as it will be our base process throughout the term.
